Birla Fertility & IVF Chandigarh Completes Two Years of Normalising Fertility Conversations and Expanding Access to Care

Chandigarh :  Birla Fertility & IVF, India’s third-largest IVF network and part of the USD 3 billion CK Birla Group, celebrated the second anniversary of its Chandigarh centre with a heartfelt gathering of families whose parenthood dreams were realised at the facility. The celebration saw couples share their arduous but inspiring journeys as they expressed their gratitude towards the centre’s personalised, compassionate, and clinically advanced care.

Since its launch, the centre has become a go-to space not just for treatment but for clarity. Through awareness sessions, fertility check-up camps, and open consultations across the tri-city and neighbouring states, the Chandigarh team has helped thousands better understand their reproductive health — often before they even considered IVF. The team used this milestone to reconnect with patients who first walked in with questions, not decisions. Many shared how these early conversations helped them navigate their fertility options with more confidence and less confusion.

Since opening in 2023, Birla Fertility & IVF Chandigarh has supported a growing number of individuals and couples seeking clarity around fertility. By offering diagnostics and treatment in one place, the centre has become a practical choice for patients across North India. Over the past two years, it has also drawn patients from countries like the UK, US, Canada, and Australia — reflecting both the trust in its clinical approach and the ease of access it provides.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhishek Aggrawal, CEO, Birla Fertility & IVF, said, “We are immensely proud to celebrate two years of our Chandigarh centre’s success. The remarkable outcomes achieved here are a reflection of our core philosophy – ‘All Heart, All Science’ – where we combine our clinical expertise with transparency and compassion. As we expand across the country, our focus remains steadfast: making fertility care more accessible, affordable, and personalised for every individual or couple who walks through our doors.”

Dr. Rakhi Goyal, Centre Head & Senior Consultant, Birla Fertility & IVF, Chandigarh, shared: “In these two years, we’ve focussed not just on treatment, but on awareness. We’ve held multiple talks and sessions with gynaecologists and local clinics to help people understand when to seek help and what signs shouldn’t be ignored. This has made a big difference — we’re now seeing more patients come in earlier, sometimes even just to clarify doubts. Common concerns we see here include low AMH, especially in women in their late 30s and 40s, as well as a rise in endometriosis. We’ve also started seeing younger women with poor ovarian reserve, which is worrying. Many couples come after failed IVF attempts elsewhere, unsure of what went wrong.

Our focus is always on finding the root cause through detailed testing, building a personalised plan, and supporting the patient throughout — not just medically, but also through diet, mental health support, and preparation for a healthy pregnancy.”

Built on the principles of clinical reliability, transparency, and patient-first care, the Chandigarh centre offers comprehensive fertility solutions under one roof. These include IVF, ICSI, IUI, fertility preservation (egg and sperm freezing), donor programmes, advanced laparoscopic procedures, and counselling support.

In addition to fertility treatment, the centre also runs specialised clinics for PCOS, cervical cancer screening, and sexual health and wellness — helping individuals take charge of their reproductive health at every stage. With each case, the team focuses on identifying the right starting point, offering clear options, and designing treatment plans that align with both medical needs and personal circumstances.

Overcoming multiple IVF failures: A journey of resilience and precision

One of the couples who achieved their dream of parenthood at Birla Fertility & IVF, Chandigarh had faced three failed IVF cycles before arriving at the centre.

Married for five and a half years, the couple had a complex fertility history. The woman had been diagnosed with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and a unicornuate uterus (an underdeveloped uterus), while the husband had teratozoospermia (a condition where a large percentage of sperm have abnormal shape) and elevated sperm DNA fragmentation. In one of their earlier IVF attempts, the couple had conceived, but the pregnancy ended at 22 weeks due to abruptio placentae, leading to an emergency hysterotomy.

They approached Dr. Rakhi Goyal and the team at Birla Fertility & IVF, Chandigarh for a thorough evaluation and a fresh treatment approach. Following comprehensive diagnostics, a personalised plan was created, and the couple opted for donor eggs, resulting in six high-quality embryos.

Before the embryo transfer, the woman’s blood pressure was brought under control through lifestyle changes and medical support. Given the presence of adenomyosis, a three-dose downregulation protocol was used to prepare the uterine lining. A single, good-quality day-5 blastocyst was then electively transferred.

The pregnancy was closely monitored, and the couple welcomed a healthy baby boy at 34 weeks of gestation. This case demonstrates how a structured, individualised approach, from diagnosis to delivery, can lead to positive outcomes, even in medically complex situations.
