Chandigarh: The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh conducted a major anti-encroachment drive at Sector 15 vendor site and Patel Market, Sector 15. During the operation, 32 challans were issued to violators for unauthorized encroachments.
Simultaneously, a similar drive was carried out around Kiran Cinema and the Jewellery Market in Sector 22, where corridors were cleared of illegal occupation to ensure smooth pedestrian movement. As a result, 25 challans were issued on the spot.
In total, 57 challans were issued during the enforcement operations in both sectors. The drives were conducted to maintain public safety, uphold urban planning norms, and provide obstruction-free access in busy commercial areas.
Such enforcement actions will continue regularly across the city to curb encroachments and ensure public spaces remain accessible to visitors.
