Chandigarh, July 7: In a decisive move to reclaim public spaces, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is set to initiate a special drive to remove private buses that are unauthorizedly parked on municipal land. The directive has been issued by Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, MC Chandigarh, who has instructed both the Enforcement and Engineering teams to take immediate action in this regard.

The Commissioner emphasized the importance of ensuring that public land is not misused and must be kept free for its intended civic purposes. To address the issue sustainably, he has also directed the concerned engineers of the Building & Roads (B&R) wing to assess the feasibility of notifying all private bus operators to relocate their vehicles to the designated parking site at Hallomajra.
