MCC tightens monitoring of paid parking operations, warns against irregularities

Chandigarh, July 7:- Strengthening transparency and efficiency in the city's paid parking system, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Chandigarh accompanied by the SDE (Parking) and Superintendent (Parking), conducted a surprise inspection of the paid parking sites in Sector 22 and the parking area adjoining Kiran Cinema.




Following the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the inspection team led by Dr. Inder Jeet, Joint Commissioner reviewed the deployment of parking attendants at entry and exit points, checked the functioning of POS machines, and verified the validation process for MC OnePass holders. The officials closely monitored whether parking passes were being authenticated through POS machines and whether proper parking slips were being issued to every user.


The inspection team directed all parking attendants to ensure that vehicles of MC OnePass users are validated at the entry point through POS machines without exception and that every visitor receives a valid parking slip. The officials emphasized that strict adherence to prescribed procedures is mandatory to maintain transparency, accountability, and public convenience.


The Joint commissioner issued a stern warning that any negligence or irregularity detected during future inspections will invite strict disciplinary action against the concerned officials and parking attendants. He said that the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh remains committed to providing a technology-driven, transparent, and citizen-friendly parking management system across the city.
