ASSOCHAM Northern Region Organizes Plantation Drive on World Environment Day

 

Chandigarh, June 6, 2026 :  ASSOCHAM Northern Region commemorated World Environment Day by organizing a plantation drive at Punjab Film City, Mohali, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future.


The drive was led by Mr. Rakesh Bhalla, Chairman, Chandigarh UT Development Council; Mr. Iqbal Singh Cheema, Co-Chairman, Punjab State Development Council; Mr. Manav Gupta, Chairman, Haryana State Development Council; and Mr. Vineet Nahata, Co-Chairman, UP State Development Council, along with industry members and stakeholders.

The plantation drive served as a symbol of collective responsibility towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. Through the plantation of saplings, participants reinforced the importance of increasing green cover and preserving the environment for future generations.

The initiative reflects ASSOCHAM's continued efforts to promote environmental awareness and encourage industry participation in sustainability-focused activities. The drive also highlighted the need for collective action in creating a cleaner, greener, and more environmentally responsible society.
