CBI Revelations in Vimal Negi Case Raise Serious Questions on Congress Government’s Role: Sanjeev Katwal

Shimla, June 6, 2026 :  An important meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party was held at Deep Kamal, Chakkar, Shimla, in which BJP State General Secretary Sanjeev Katwal was specially present. The meeting discussed organizational matters as well as several important contemporary political issues concerning Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Sanjeev Katwal strongly criticized the Congress government over the facts that have emerged in the Vimal Negi case. He said that the information recently brought into the public domain and the findings reportedly presented by the investigating agency before the court have shaken the entire state.

Katwal stated that allegations relating to the issuance of fake completion certificates, manipulation of official records, and decisions taken in violation of established rules raise serious concerns about the credibility and integrity of the administrative system.

He said that if certificates were issued despite discrepancies between the actual status of a project and official records, if officers were allegedly subjected to pressure, and if those raising objections were sidelined from the decision-making process, then the matter is extremely serious and demands complete transparency.

Sanjeev Katwal further said that the people of Himachal Pradesh have a right to know under whose protection such activities continued. If investigations indicate that rules were ignored in order to benefit certain individuals or entities, then the Congress government must answer tough questions and explain why timely action was not taken despite the seriousness of the allegations.

He remarked that the Vimal Negi case is not merely about one individual but is a matter concerning administrative accountability, transparency, and good governance. If an officer was forced to work under pressure, if objections were ignored, and if institutional processes were weakened, then it reflects a much larger systemic failure that cannot be overlooked.

Katwal alleged that several incidents during the tenure of the present Congress government have strengthened public concerns regarding corruption, favoritism, and political patronage. He said that instead of indulging in political rhetoric, the government should come clean before the people and ensure strict action against all those found guilty.

He also said that all concerned officials should fully cooperate with the CBI investigation so that the truth comes out without any obstruction and justice is delivered in a fair and transparent manner.

The BJP State General Secretary reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party demands a fair, impartial, and comprehensive investigation into the entire matter and strict punishment for those responsible. He said that the people of Himachal Pradesh deserve the truth, and BJP will continue to raise this issue forcefully until accountability is ensured.

Among those present at the meeting were MLA Balbir Verma, former minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Keshav Chauhan, Ganesh Dutt, Karan Nanda, Sanjay Thakur, Ravi Mehta, Prem Thakur, Sanjeev Deshta, Sudeep Mahajan, Shivani Thakur, Sushil Chauhan, Kishore, Parul, Rahul, Reena, Jitendra and other BJP workers.
