Major Breakthrough: Chandigarh Police Arrest Three Robbers, Recover Weapons and Stolen Property

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police have achieved a major breakthrough by arresting three accused involved in a robbery case and recovering weapons and stolen property.

Acting on the directions of Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, W/SSP/UT, Chandigarh, under the close guidance of Ms. KM Priyanka, W/SP/City, Chandigarh, and supervision of  Gurjeet Kaur, SDPO/South, a police team from Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh, headed by Insp. Rajiv Kumar, SHO/PS-31, successfully apprehended three accused in FIR No. 234 dated 16.12.2025.

Arrested Accused

  1. Bunty Singh (21 years), S/o Arvind Singh, R/o #1988, Phase-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh

  2. Abhijeet Kumar @ Golu (19 years), S/o Late Rajesh Kumar, R/o #1942, Phase-2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh

  3. Nitin Kumar @ Chintu (22 years), S/o Mahipal, R/o #530, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh

The case has been registered under Sections 304(2), 351(2), 351(3), 3(5) added 317(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh.

Case Details

The case was registered on the complaint of Reshma (29 years), resident of Village Faidan Nizampur, UT Chandigarh. She reported that on 14.12.2025 at about 4:20 PM, while going for cleaning work in Sector 47-C, Chandigarh, she was stopped near House No. 2270, Sector 47-C by three youths riding an Activa scooter.

One of the accused brandished a knife and threatened her, while the other two held her bicycle. The accused robbed her purse containing an OPPO mobile phone and documents, and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police.

Recovery

During investigation, all three accused were arrested on the identification of the victim. Following recoveries were made:

  • 2 Knives (Kamanidar)

  • 1 Mobile Phone (belonging to the victim)

  • 1 Aadhaar Card (belonging to the victim)

The Activa scooter used in the commission of the crime has also been taken into police possession. After recovery of the knives, relevant sections of the Arms Act were added to the case. All accused are being produced before the Hon’ble Court.
