Chandigarh:The Punjabi Hindu Group, under the leadership of Chairman Mahant Shri Ravi Kant Muni Ji, is launching a special campaign to revive the historical heritage of the Punjabi language and identity. The campaign is dedicated to restoring the ancient glory and pride of the Lande script, the original script of Punjab.
Speaking to the media, Group State Secretary Shri Chetan Jogi Ji said that according to historical facts, the Punjabi language is believed to have originated from the Jogis. The ancient folk songs of Punjab also mention the Jogis. Jogi Gorakhnath Ji played a crucial role in the development of the Punjabi language by giving importance to the local dialect and communication.
For centuries, Lande script was the primary and most widely used script of the Punjabi language. It was used by the ruling and trading classes of Punjab, but after some timr, other scripts were introduced. Despite being out of official use for nearly a thousand years, the Punjabi Mahajan and buisness class continued to use Lande script in their daily business and records.
To preserve this valuable heritage and pass it on to future generations, the Punjabi Hindu Group has taken a new and important decision. They have announced that individuals who can read and write Lande script will be honored with the "Punjabi Putt Samman". This honor is not just a medal, but a symbol of reviving Punjabi identity, history, and pride.
The Punjabi Hindu Group appeals to all sections of society to share information about individuals who know Lande script. This campaign will not only preserve the historical heritage but also strengthen the sense of pride and unity among Punjabis. It is a significant step towards honoring one's script, roots, and identity.
