F&CC approves development works related to electrification, sewerage strengthening and transport infrastructure

*Chandigarh, February 17:-* The Finance & Contract Committee (F&CC) of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh convened today under the chairmanship of city Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi and attended by MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Councillors Sh. Jasbir Singh Bunty, Sh. Kanwarjeet Rana, Sh. Yogesh Dhingra, Sh. Rajinder Sharma and Sh. Harjeet Singh besides senior officers and concerned officials of the Corporation.



The Committee deliberated upon the following agenda items placed before it:


• Proposal for providing decorative lights in inner market adjoining V4 road, Sector 35 C & D, Chandigarh (Rs. 47.49 lakh). The proposal aims at installation of decorative LED lights and poles to enhance illumination and beautification of the inner market area.


• Proposal for providing street light and park light in Sector 34 & 43, Chandigarh (Rs. 23.92 lakh). The work includes installation of high-power LED lights and poles to improve lighting conditions and public safety in dark patches.


• Proposal for installation of high mast in park near #2024, Sector 15 and street light poles in Sector 23, Chandigarh (Rs. 15.21 lakh). The project is intended to address dark spots in parks and residential lanes for better safety and visibility.


• Proposal for replacement of old lights with high wattage LED decorative globe lights in various markets of Sector 22, Chandigarh (Rs. 32.85 lakh). The initiative will replace outdated and non-functional fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting.


• Rough Cost Estimate for strengthening of existing sewerage system near House No. 271 to 472, 1091 to 1428, 1826 to 1921 at Village Burail, Chandigarh (Rs. 34.64 lakh).The work aims at strengthening the sewerage network to prevent blockages and improve system capacity.


• Rough Cost Estimate for strengthening of existing Storm Water Drainage (SWD) system by construction and repair of machine holes and road gullies in Sector 15 A, B, C & D, Chandigarh (Rs. 21.61 lakh). The proposal focuses on improving drainage infrastructure to prevent waterlogging.


• Rough Cost Estimate for upgradation of market area and along side roads of Transport Area in Sector 26, Chandigarh (Rs. 31.30 lakh approx.). The project includes infrastructure improvement works for better road and market facilities.


• Rough Cost Estimate for establishment of 60 MT Weigh Bridge at Transport Area in Sector 26, Chandigarh (Rs. 35.66 lakh). The installation of the weigh bridge will strengthen monitoring and streamline transport operations in the area.


After detailed discussions, the F&CC accorded approval to the above proposals, emphasizing timely execution and adherence to quality standards.


The Mayor reiterated that the Municipal Corporation is committed to improving civic infrastructure and ensuring enhanced public services across the city.


The Commissioner directed the concerned departments to expedite the implementation of the approved works in a transparent and efficient manner.
