The AAP government is politicizing the bureaucracy – Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh, February 16: Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has said that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is politicizing the bureaucracy. He raised questions over the presence of the Chief Secretary and the DGP at an AAP rally held in Moga.

In this regard, in a social media message tagging Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sunil Jakhar wrote, “Seeing the Chief Secretary and the DGP at an Aam Aadmi Party rally raises the question: are the ‘steel frame’ bureaucrats of India now bowing to political whims? Is this not a clear violation of the All India Services Rules?”

Sunil Jakhar said this is extremely concerning. He stated that in a democracy, the bureaucracy is expected to function with neutrality, but it appears that the steel frame of democracy—the civil servants—has now surrendered to the whims of the AAP. He said this is also a violation of service rules.

The BJP state president further said that at the rally organized by the AAP in Moga to serve its political interests, the entire government machinery was allegedly deployed, and attempts were made to gather crowds by misusing public funds. Bringing the DGP and the Chief Secretary to the rally, he said, was completely unethical on the part of the AAP government.
