What happened to the promise of one lakh government jobs, five lakh employment opportunities and the ‘Khata-Khat model’; Congress governments are neck-deep in corruption: Bindal

Shimla: BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp attack on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that he travels across the country promoting his so-called “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan”, particularly in BJP-ruled states, but his concern disappears when unemployed youth face injustice under his own Congress government in Himachal Pradesh.

Dr. Bindal said that during the Assembly elections, senior Congress leaders made major promises to the youth of Himachal Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders promised one lakh government jobs and five lakh employment opportunities. The youth were shown dreams of permanent and secure government employment, but after coming to power, the Congress government has failed to fulfil those promises.

“The unemployed youth of Himachal want to ask Rahul Gandhi: when your own party’s government is failing to honour its commitments to us, where is your ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan’? Is your concern reserved only for BJP-ruled states, while its doors remain closed for the youth of Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh?” Dr. Bindal asked.

He said that instead of employment, the youth of Himachal have received only disappointment and a prolonged wait. The Congress government must explain what happened to its promise of one lakh government jobs and where its commitment to provide five lakh employment opportunities stands today.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s “Khata-Khat” slogan, Dr. Bindal said, “Rahul ji, where has your ‘Khata-Khat model’ disappeared? People were promised money in their accounts, women were promised financial assistance and poor families were shown dreams of economic relief. Today, the people of Himachal are asking for an account of those guarantees.”

Dr. Bindal alleged that instead of providing employment to the youth and relief to the people, the Congress government has made political interests its priority.

He said serious questions regarding corruption and financial irregularities are being raised against Congress governments. While major allegations have surfaced in Karnataka, the BJP in Himachal Pradesh has also repeatedly raised questions concerning government decisions, contracts, mining and the management of public resources, and has demanded transparency and impartial investigations.

“Congress leaders should first answer the questions being raised about their own governments before lecturing others on accountability. Every credible allegation of corruption should be investigated impartially, and anyone found guilty must face action in accordance with law,” he said.

Dr. Bindal invited Rahul Gandhi to visit Himachal Pradesh and meet the State’s unemployed youth.

“Rahul Gandhi ji, come to Himachal and meet the unemployed youth. Ask them what happened to the Congress guarantees. Meet the women who were promised financial assistance. The people do not want speeches anymore; they want an account of the promises Congress made to them,” he said.

Dr. Bindal said that the people of Himachal Pradesh and the country have understood the politics behind the Congress leader’s “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan”.

“Love and concern cannot remain confined to speeches. They must be reflected in providing employment to the youth, fulfilling promises made to women, providing relief to poor families and ensuring transparent governance. Rahul Gandhi should first give Himachal Pradesh an account of his party’s guarantees before preaching the politics of ‘Mohabbat’ to the rest of the country,” Dr. Bindal said.
