Chandigarh, December 4:- The 4th meeting of the Road Committee of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Dalip Sharma, during which several development projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and strengthening civic amenities were approved.
The meeting was attended by other committee members namely Sh. Naresh Panchal, Sh. Manaur, Sh. Gurcharanjit Singh, Ms. Suman Devi, Sh. Rajinder Singh, and Sh. Maheshinder Singh Siddhu, along with senior officials and concerned engineers of the Municipal Corporation.
Three Rough Cost Estimates were presented before the Committee for deliberation. After detailed discussions, the Committee unanimously approved all proposals.
The first project approved was the construction of a new kitchen after dismantling existing kitchen in Community Center, Sector 38 West, in compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court (COCP No. 838 of 2021). This project, estimated at ₹16.71 lakh, aims to enhance community infrastructure for the residents.
The Committee also cleared the proposal for providing and laying cement concrete (CC) flooring in the Motor Market, Manimajra, at various locations to support smoother and more organized waste segregation activities. The estimated cost of this work is ₹14.41 lakh.
Additionally, the Committee approved the special repair of the Councillor Room at the Community Center, Sector 33, at an estimated cost of ₹5.52 lakh, ensuring better facilities for public service delivery.
The Chairperson emphasized timely execution of these approved projects to benefit residents and strengthen the city’s civic infrastructure.
