StriveX 2025 was successfully observed in PGIMER, Chandigarh, organised by the ABMS

Chandigarh: The Annual Sports event, StriveX 2025 was successfully observed in PGIMER, Chandigarh, organised by the Association of Basic Medical Scientists (ABMS), under the leadership of Ms. Shaveta Jain (President, ABMS), from 25th – 27th September, 2025. The event aimed at fostering team spirit, promoting physical fitness, and enhancing camaraderie among scholars and researchers from various departments of PGIMER. The event was a reminder that sound mind thrives in a sound body. 


The attendees comprised of students from various courses, research scholars, and staff. The event was inaugurated by Prof. R K Ratho (Director Academics, PGIMER), Prof. Sandeep Bansal (Sports Faculty, PGIMER), and Prof. Vipin Kumar Koushal (Medical Superintendent, PGIMER) at the PGIMER Sports Complex. The main event started with a friendly match of Tug-of-war with teams comprising of both ABMS members and faculty members. Faculty from various departments of PGIMER also marked their presence during this 3-day event including Prof. Anup K. Ghosh (Medical Microbiology), Dr. Anupam Mittal (Translational & Regenerative Medicine), and Dr. Subhabrata Sarkar (Virology).


The event included competitions for Athletics (sprints, relay race, 3-legged race), Badminton, Table tennis, chess, and sudoku. Th event ended with an exciting tournament of cricket which was won by team “Darwin ke dabangs” led by captain Zubin Singh Rana from Department of Biophysics. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and lively cheering from spectators. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as teams and individuals gave their best, demonstrating not only skill but also sportsmanship and camaraderie. The organizing committee extended gratitude to the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made the event a grand success. With its resounding conclusion, the Annual Sports Event 2025 reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to all-round development and fostering a culture of health, fitness, and togetherness. 


The organizing team comprised of the current ABMS executive committee including, Mr. Ajay Kumar (Vice- President), Ms. Ankita Arora (General Secretary), Shivani Kavidayal (Joint Secretary Female), Mr. Shiv Charan (Joint Secretary Male), Ms. Praisy K Prabha (Treasurer), Mr. Jagdeep Singh (Literary Secretary), Ms. Rupali Dhingra (Cultural Secretary), Mr. Anikait Kaushal (Sports Secretary), and Ms. Gurkirat Kaur (Hostel Secretary Female), under the leadership of Ms. Shaveta Jain (President).
