Chandigarh, December 7, 2025:The Chandigarh Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two accused involved in an attempted robbery and assault in the Industrial Area. The swift action came under the directions of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur (IPS), W/SSP UT Chandigarh, along with SP City KM Priyanka, SDPO East Charanjit Singh Virk, and Inspector Satnam Singh, SHO of Police Station Industrial Area.
The arrests were made by a team led by SI Ravdeep Singh and ASI Satish, along with other officials from Police Station Industrial Area and Police Post Dariya.
Incident Details
According to FIR No. 114 dated December 6, 2025, filed under Section 309(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the victim Bhim, a 21-year-old resident of Village Daria and student at CGC Landran, reported that he was attacked around 10 AM while on his way for a haircut.
The complainant alleged that he was stopped near Street No. 9 by Arshdeep alias Tima, who took him towards a nearby mosque where the second accused, Sukesh, was waiting. Both accused then assaulted him and attempted to snatch his mobile phone and cash. When the victim resisted, Arshdeep allegedly struck him on the head with a brick, causing injuries. The accused fled the scene immediately afterward.
Following a preliminary inquiry, police found sufficient grounds to register a serious offence, leading to the immediate filing of the FIR.
Accused Arrested Same Day
The two arrested individuals are:

Arshdeep Singh alias Tima (27), resident of Borivali Gali, Village Daria

Sukesh (24), also from Borivali Gali, Village Daria
Both were arrested on the same day and have been remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
Arshdeep Identified as Habitual Offender
Police confirmed that Arshdeep Singh alias Tima is a habitual offender and is already listed as a Bad Character (BC) of Police Station Industrial Area. He is linked to multiple previous criminal cases, including:

Police Statement
Officials stated that the coordinated efforts of SDPO East Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, SHO Satnam Singh, and SI Ravdeep Singh have contributed significantly to curbing crime in the Industrial Area region.
