​New York,​Rajya Sabha MP Prof. (Dr.) Sikander Kumar attended a special interactive session and gala dinner organized by the Indian Diaspora and 'Friends of India' in New York as the Chief Guest. The event was held at the special invitation of the Consul General of India, Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhan. A large number of Indian diaspora members residing in the United States, alongside prominent academicians, industrialists, and distinguished dignitaries, attended the gathering.

​Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Sikander Kumar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Consul General Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, commending his commendable efforts in organizing this significant event and bringing the diaspora community together on a shared platform.

​Diaspora's Participation is Essential to the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' Vision

​Engaging with the attending Indian diaspora, Prof. Sikander Kumar stated that the visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has taken a firm pledge to transform India into a fully 'Developed Nation' and an 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) by 2047. He emphasized that the global Indian diaspora serves as the backbone of this monumental national mission.

​Prof. Kumar remarked, "Non-resident Indians are our nation’s strongest cultural and development ambassadors abroad. Without your active cooperation and participation, this ambitious goal of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' remains incomplete. Your dedication to the motherland and your global achievements are lending new momentum to India's progress."

​During the interaction, the Rajya Sabha MP highlighted in detail the infrastructural, economic, social, and technological transformations achieved over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He noted that today’s India is filled with self-confidence and is emerging as a formidable leader on the global stage.

​The members of the Indian diaspora present at the event unanimously lauded the historic progress witnessed over the past decade under PM Modi. Representatives of the community collectively resolved that the global diaspora stands fully prepared to dedicate its expertise, intellectual potential, and resources to help India reclaim its position as 'Vishwa Guru' (world leader/mentor).

​The event concluded with an exchange of ideas followed by dinner. Prof. Sikander Kumar called upon all members of the diaspora to remain continuous partners in India’s developmental journey and wished them a bright future.
