Congress to Become the Voice of HKRN Employees; Dharna Held in Panchkula Under the Leadership of State Congress President Rao Narender Singh

Panchkula/Chandigarh:Under the leadership of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narender Singh, the Congress Party today held a dharna outside the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) office in Sector 6, Panchkula, in support of the legitimate demands of HKRN employees.

The Congress asserted that thousands of young people and employees across Haryana have been serving in various government departments, yet they continue to be denied permanent employment, equal pay, job security and basic social security. The party demanded that the government immediately safeguard the future of HKRN employees and formulate a concrete policy for their regularisation.
State Congress President Rao Narender Singh said that the youth of Haryana have earned employment through their hard work, merit and qualifications, but instead of creating avenues for permanent employment, the BJP government has pushed them into a cycle of temporary and insecure jobs. Despite taking the services of HKRN employees for years, the government has failed to provide them with job stability and social security.
He said that the Congress stands firmly with the employees and will continue to raise their voice at every democratic forum—from the streets to the Assembly—until their legitimate demands are addressed. “Providing employment and ensuring dignity and security for the youth is the responsibility of the government; exploiting their aspirations is not,” he said.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that providing the youth of Haryana with permanent employment and a secure and dignified future must be a priority for any responsible government. Keeping employees temporary even after taking their services for years is a clear injustice to them.
He said that during the Congress government, the interests of employees and employment opportunities were given due priority. The Congress stands firmly with the employees and will not allow the BJP government to jeopardise the future of Haryana’s youth and working families.
Senior Congress leader and Convenor of the dharna Ashok Arora, MLA said that the problems of HKRN employees are not merely an issue concerning a section of workers; they are directly linked to the future and economic security of lakhs of families across Haryana. He urged the government to take the employees’ demands seriously and ensure their employment security.
He said that today’s dharna is a significant step towards amplifying the voice of HKRN employees and mounting democratic pressure on the government to take immediate and concrete action.
Permanent Member of Congress Working Committee and MP Deepender Singh Hooda said that Haryana’s youth have spent years pursuing education, preparing for competitive examinations and working hard to secure employment, but the BJP government is increasingly promoting temporary employment arrangements instead of providing secure and dignified jobs.
He said that employees working through HKRN deserve a secure future, fair service conditions and dignity at the workplace. The Congress, he added, will fight with full determination for the rights of Haryana’s youth and employees and will continue to hold the government accountable for its policies and promises.
On the occasion, former Haryana Congress Committee Presidents Ch. Birender Singh and Ch. Udai Bhan, Lok Sabha MP Varun Mullana, Rajya Sabha MP Karmvir Boudh, MLA B. B. Batra, Smt. Geeta Bhukkal, Ch. Aftab Ahmed and Aditya Surjewala also addressed the gathering.
