Chandigarh, August 16:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today intensified its enforcement drive against illegal rehri vendors following repeated complaints from residents and visitors.
A special drive was conducted in Sector 20, with particular focus on illegally operating ice-cream rehris, resulting in the impounding of such rehris. Action was also taken against illegal rehris near Radha Swami Bhawan in Sector 27, where several complaints had been received regarding unauthorised vending.
The enforcement teams further conducted drives at the Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake areas to ensure that public spaces remain free from unauthorised vending and encroachments.
During the day-long enforcement operations, a total of 80 illegal rehris were impounded.
